Air Conveyor

An industrial air conveyor is a high-performance pneumatic material handling system designed to transform standard piping into a powerful transport line for bulk materials and small parts. By utilizing compressed air, these inline conveyors efficiently move materials such as sand, granules, capsules, screws, and bolts across production environments. Because the system features no moving parts, it provides a highly reliable, maintenance-free solution that eliminates the risk of mechanical wear or jamming. Ideal for streamlining industrial workflows, a pneumatic air conveyor integrates seamlessly into existing setups to provide a fast, consistent, and durable method for bulk solid transfer.

Air Conveyor FAQs

Yes. The Supreme Air Products™ Air Conveyor is highly effective at transporting powders and fine particulates. Because the system utilizes high-velocity air amplification to move material, the discharge end will contain a mixture of air and fine particles. To ensure a clean operation, we recommend integrating a centrifugal cyclone separator or a dust collection filter at the ejection point. This will efficiently decouple the air from the powder, ensuring a seamless and dust-free material transfer.

The Supreme Air Products™ Air Conveyor is engineered for high-efficiency material transfer, offering a standard amplification ratio of 9:1. This means the unit entrains ambient air from the suction intake at approximately nine times the rate of the compressed air consumed. This high-volume vacuum effect generates the massive airflow required to move heavy media or high-density solids over significant distances with minimal energy input.

For peak performance, the Supreme Air Conveyor should be positioned within 3 to 5 feet (1 to 1.5 meters) of the suction intake point. In pneumatic conveyance, it is significantly more energy-efficient to “push” material through a line using positive pressure than it is to “pull” it via vacuum over long distances. If your layout requires a longer run, always prioritize installing the unit as close to the material source as possible to maximize lift and minimize potential line clogs.

No. Standard Air Conveyors are not recommended for conveying flammable or explosive materials. The high-velocity friction of media moving through a conveyance line can generate a significant electrostatic charge. Without specialized explosion-proof engineering and verified grounding paths, this static discharge could act as an ignition source. For applications involving combustible dust or volatile solids, please consult our engineering team regarding specialized anti-static requirements and safety grounding protocols.
