The “sweet spot” is usually right after the charge is generated—typically where a material peels off a roller or undergoes friction. For the fastest results, mount the bar 1″ to 2″ (25mm to 51mm) away from the surface. If you are using it without air assistance, the closer the better!

It’s all about speed and distance.

  • The Bar: Best for slow-moving webs (under 100 FPM) where you can mount it very close to the material.
  • The Ion Air Knife: Essential for high-speed lines or when you need to neutralize static from several feet away. The air “carries” the ions to the target.

Since there are no moving parts, maintenance is a breeze. Periodically check the emitter pins for dust “cloverleafing.”

  • The Fix: Turn off the power and wipe the pins with a soft brush or a swab dipped in IPA (Isopropyl Alcohol). Keeping the pins sharp and clean ensures maximum ion production.

In short: No. Ions are highly reactive; if you force them through a pipe or hose, they will collide with the walls and neutralize themselves before they ever reach your product. To reach tight spaces, we recommend our Ion Air Jets instead of trying to duct a bar.

Absolutely. Our Ionizing Bar is designed to be modular. You can easily integrate it with our Supreme Air Knife at a later date if your line speeds increase and you find you need the extra “reach” that compressed air provides.

Think of the Static Meter as your “static detective.” It tells you two things: the Intensity (how many thousands of volts are present) and the Polarity (is the charge Positive or Negative?). This allows you to verify that the Supreme Ionizing Bar has successfully brought the surface to zero.

Not at all. While the power supply steps up the voltage to create the ionizing field, it operates at an extremely low current (milliamps). The actual draw is usually less than 0.5 Amps, making it one of the most energy-efficient components in your facility.

It’s a common mix-up! Static is a surface electrical imbalance (electrons), while Magnetism is an internal molecular alignment. Our bars are masters at neutralizing electrons, but they have no effect on magnetic fields. For magnetism, you would need a specialized degaussing coil.

Standard ionizing bars create a tiny, high-voltage “corona discharge” (basically a micro-spark) to create ions. In areas with explosive vapors or dust, this is a safety hazard. If your environment is volatile, ask us about our Explosion-Proof Static Eliminators designed specifically for hazardous zones.
